Most Popular Ideas on Dell IdeaStorm
February 27th, 2007Dell is well known for selling the top end computers worldwide, bypassing the middleman and selling custom-built computers directly to customers. Recently they launched the Dell Ideastorm to let you share your ideas to improve Dell.
The word “Ideastorm” is a take-off from “brainstorm” and attempts to build an online community that lets you share ideas and interact with other customers and Dell experts. You can suggest new products or services you’d like to see Dell develop or tell the world how you feel about major trends in technology and society.
I was browsing through the most popular ideas on Dell Ideastorm. The top voted idea is to offer the 3 top free Linux versions for free pre-installation on all Dell PCs and offer easy multi-boot options with Windows Vista, Windows XP, or NO Windows (over 80000 points).
The second most popular request is provide OpenOffice.org for free pre-installation alongside Microsoft Works and Microsoft Office. OpenOffice.org is a serious competitor to Microsoft Office, and is available free of cost! (over 50000 points)
Another nice idea is that Firefox was pre-installed as the default browser so that when people look for the “Internet” in Windows, they are using FF. Now that will really spread Firefox.
What is your great suggestion for Dell? They are listening…
