Techcrunch20 : Free Demo of 20 New Startup Products

New Startups have a great platform to showcase their product to top technology experts and venture capitalists at Techcrunch20 conference. This is a joint venture between TechCrunch and Jason Calacanis.

Twenty of the hottest new startups will announce and demo their products over a two day period for free. They will be selected to participate based on merit alone. The startups will be invited based on the recommendation of a committee of expert analysts, entrepreneurs and journalists.

Jason Calacanis talks about Techcrunch20

“We really want the audience to get 20 presentations that are just amazing. No duds is the goal. To ensure that we have no duds the selected companies are going to show us their final products and presentations 10 days before the event, and in the case that their demo is not ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT we are going to replace them (we’ll have 2-3 alternates waiting in the wings for this purpose).”

Who funds the conferences if demos are free? the ticket sales and a couple of top level sponsors. This is a boon for people with amazing products who cannot afford to spend top dollars to get an entry for showcasing events and conferences. Now you can showcase your college project to the world and become the next Youtube or Digg!
