Free Dreamhost Domain Transfers and Hosting for Registerfly Refugees

March 18th, 2007
ADVERTISEMENTS

RegisterFly is a popular domain registrar and web host. ICANN has terminated RegisterFly.com Registrar Accreditation Agreement. It seems they have been investigating the issue for some time now.

“Effective immediately ICANN has terminated RegisterFly’s right to use the ICANN Accredited Registrar logo on its website. Between now and 31 March RegisterFly is required to unlock and provide all necessary Authinfo codes to allow domain name transfers to occur. Any and all registrants wishing to transfer away from RegisterFly during this period should be allowed to do so efficiently and expeditiously.”

The Unofficial Dreamhost blog says that RegisterFly was registrar for approximately 2,000,000 domain names held by about 900,000 customers and these customers have to find a new domain name registrar and possibly a new web host within the next two weeks.

Meanwhile Dreamhost plans to grab the opportunity to transfer these clients to their side. They are offering a super deal with a full year of L1 plan, including domain registration transfer and renewal, completely free!

The offer is valid for new Dreamhost customers only . Use the FLYAWAY promotional code to get the free domain transfers and free hosting. The sale will remain in effect until 11:59 PM PDT, March 31st, 2007 and the offer is valid for the first year only after which usual charges will apply.

This site is hosted on Dreamhost too and read why I love Dreamhost. This is an excellent opportunity for Registerfly users to shift to Dreamhost.

  1. I’m in the process of researching web hosting companies and I’ve seen you speak highly of Dreamhost. Since I consider you a trusted source, I was wondering if you might share what service you use with them. Are you on a shared service or a dedicated one?

  2. I used the shared hosting, the cheapest package. Still not popular enough to need dedicated hosting. :-)
