Lifehacker and Gizmodo Job Boards Launched

March 7th, 2007 | Filed under Blogging, Tools.
ADVERTISEMENTS

Most top blogs have created Job Boards to tap the potential of their targeted readers and get a decent side income too. Latest in the race are new job boards from Lifehacker and Gizmodo which have a huge dedicated readership.

Visit the Lifehacker Job Board and the Gizmodo Job Boards. It started when Gizmodo announced their entry into job segment and Lifehacker followed soon.

Both are offering job advertisements at $25 for 30 days, which is cheap considering the exposure to a huge target readership. A bonus from Gizmodo is that you can get a coupon code for a free job listing by emailing them (possibly as a limited time promotion offer). The bonus from Lifehacker is that if you post a job on Lifehacker’s board, it will also appear on Gizmodo’s Job Board (I don’t know if it is vice versa too).

Though there are many blogs running similar mini employment exchanges for bloggers with limited success, Lifehacker and Gizmodo may change the trend and actually create a successful business model.

I checked that they are using JobThread to host these job boards. JobThread lets you setup a job board for your site for free. They share 50% of the revenue you charge. There are no setup fees, hosting fees or maintenance fees.
