Slashdot “Easter Egg” in Opera

Slashdot is the premier tech portal and its importance has been acknowledged by the Opera web browser too. Slashdot exists as an easter egg in Opera!

Easter eggs are hidden, undocumented features or messages in applications. I recently found some easter eggs in wordpress post editor. Opera Watch reports that the Slashdot Easter egg has been in Opera for a quite some time. If you type the “slash” and “dot” symbols in the URL bar (i.e. “/.”) and hit enter, it will forward to Slashdot’s website.

Now that is a cool support for /. Last time I spotted this feature was when Ask searched for Emoticons, Acronyms, and Non-Alphanumeric Terms.
