Dreamhost web hosting (which hosts this blog too) has launched the DreamHost Hosting Abuse Center to highlight acceptable practices and solutions to common spam problems if originating from Dreamhost.

The goals are clearly to educate DreamHost customers on acceptable practices for bulk email, the use of copyrighted materials, trademarks, etc. and to assist anyone experiencing abusive activities originating from or associated with their servers.

The Unofficial Dreamhost blog reports that the site currently covers:

* Spam and Unsolicited Bulk Email
DreamHost’s definition, double opt-in requirements, etc.
* Copyright Infringement
DMCA procedure, common misunderstandings, etc.
* Trademark Infringement
Difference between copyright and trademark, etc.
* Cracking, Intrusion & DOS
How to handle exploits
* Fraud, Phishing & 419 Scams
Common types of internet fraud
* Libel & Defamation
How to avoid violating the law
* Child Pornography
Why DreamHost sometimes have to leave such sites online
