Johns Hopkins, a world leader in patient care, medical research and teaching has adopted the Microsoft Azyxxi unified health enterprise platform and suite of applications designed to integrate clinical information while improving access to data and streamlining clinical research.

“The initiative, which measures the quality of healthcare services provided for specific treatments, often yields data points that are too specific for general IT systems to capture directly. JHHS will benefit from Azyxxi’s ability to aggregate information from across its existing, best-of-breed healthcare IT systems, providing clinicians with a single, nearly instantaneous view of cross-functional patient data.”

Earlier Microsoft had bolstered its health care lineup with the purchase of Azyxxi, database software for patient records, and with an alliance with the MedStar Health hospital group.
