Next Yahoo! Hack Day in London
April 23rd, 2007Yahoo Developer Network has announced that the next Yahoo! Hack Day will be held at Alexandra Palace in London on 16th and 17th June 2007. The previous Public Yahoo Hack Day was held on September 29-30, 2006.
The Hack day site reveals some details -
“We’ll be inviting 500 developers to attend the event, which will begin with hack-related presentations from some of the Web’s most respected developers. We will then dive into 24 hours of hacking on a very nice collection of tools, APIs, and data, and end with awards from the sponsors plus bragging rights.”
This is the first Hack Day to be held in Europe. This Yahoo! event also brags of a partnership with BBC Backstage. And it’s not at a campus as last time, but at London’s Alexandra Palace!
Tom Coates describes what to expect-
“It’s a two day event, starting first thing on Saturday morning and running through to Sunday evening. We’ll have a whole bunch of speakers from Flickr, Yahoo! and the BBC to start us off. We’ll have food—mostly flat—to meet the specialised needs of our guests. There may be booze. I’m not telling.”
Yahoo! Hack Day is a top event for developers to showcase hacks, win prizes and get recognition by your peers. Due to limited entry, they will be reviewing applications for attendance and giving preference to those best able to contribute to the development of a hack at the event.
