Second Annual CSS Naked Day on April 5

April 2nd, 2007
ADVERTISEMENTS

The CSS Naked day is back on April 5, 2007. Get ready to remove your CSS styling and test how well designed your blog infrastructure is. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) have become an integral part of professional web designing and this day is all about removing your CSS stylesheets and coding for 1 day.

The idea behind this event is to promote Web Standards which includes proper use of (x)html, semantic markup, and a good hierarchy structure. It’s time to show off your <body>. This is a test for your html structure without CSS.

If you cannot do it manually, wordpress plugins can help out. The Aja’s 48 hour naked day plugin can help you strip off XML/HTML stylesheet references, embedded stylesheets and inline styles—all without editing your template and determine whether it is the 5th of April. Guff’s WP: Naked Day plugin will automatically disable the stylesheet on April 5th.

If you agree to remove all CSS from your website for one day (April 5th, 2007), then put up a sign why your site looks strange that day so your visitors will know. See what happened on the first annual CSS naked day on April 5th, 2006.
