Sony Playstation 3 High-Definition Gaming Now in India

The gray market was selling the Sony PS3 for exorbitant prices, but the full page advertisements in local newspapers and press releases announced that PS3 had arrived in India to change the gaming scenario and give competition to the Microsoft Xbox 360.
At the heart of PS3 is the Cell Broadband Engine, one of the most-advanced computer processors in the world, that enables massive floating point calculation, and Blu-ray Disc (BD) drive, providing a true High Definition (1080p) next-generation gaming and movie experience in the home, as well as up to 50 GB of data capacity for video game developers to store content – five times the capacity of a DVD. PS3 also features a 60-GB hard disk drive (HDD), built in Wi-Fi adapter and multiple memory card slots.
The Sony Playstation 3 is available at MRP of Rs.39990 from authorised retail stores. PS3 peripherals like additional SIXAXIS wireless controllers are available at Rs 2990 and a Blu-ray Remote Control and HDMI Cable both sold at Rs. 1990. An extensive library of game software titles from every genre is available for PS3 priced at Rs 2799 per game.
Although the price is expensive, PS3 is a welcome addition for Indian gamers.
