Maximum Active Second Life Residents from Europe
May 6th, 2007comScore has released a comprehensive worldwide analysis of the active users of Second Life, the popular 3-D virtual world with millions of virtual residents. It has revealed some interesting trends like number of active German residents exceeds the number of active residents in the entire U.S!
The study revealed that approximately 1.3 million people ran the official software and logged-in to Second Life in March 2007. 61 percent of active Second Life residents were from Europe, compared to 19 percent from North America, and 13 percent from Asia Pacific. In addition, 61 percent of residents were male while 39 percent were female. It is interesting to note that the number of active German residents exceeds the number of active residents in the entire U.S. They also found that the Secondlife.com website was visited by 3.6 million worldwide visitors aged 15 and older.
Just checked the Second Life statistics and it reveals that the Total Residents are 6,115,427 (Just 6 months back they crossed 1 million residents – a six fold increase!) and those who logged in last 60 days are 1,624,434.
Second life has its own share of vitrual millionaires, worldwide events like STAND UP showed presence in SL and even governments are setting up virtual embassies. Are you stuck in Second Life? Get a First life.
