MediaTemple Launches MySQL GridContainers

May 9th, 2007 | Filed under Webhosting.
ADVERTISEMENTS

MediaTemple has launched MySQL GridContainer, a solution for customers who require large amounts of database memory and guaranteed performance with absolute reliability for their database-driven websites. Using the RAM and CPU isolation technology of the GridContainer, applications and databases function nearly identical to a dedicated server.

Past versions of MySQL like the MySQL SmartPool v.2 system was subject to the volatility of shared hosting (also called the “bad neighbor effect”). The MySQL GridContainer system runs a single instance of MySQL in a dedicated server which has complete RAM, and CPU isolation from other applications, databases, and customers ensuring peak performance and high uptime.

Media Temple is popular for its Grid Servers which go beyond Shared Web Hosting to keep your site up while it is experiencing spike of traffic. However, the Grid-Service doesn’t include a free MySQL GridContainer. The professional MySQL GridContainers are available in 3 types - Lite ($20/mo) to Advanced ($150/mo). Take your MySQL hosting to a new level.
