Poll Results: Service Tax on Adsense Income in India

Did you know that you have to pay service tax (besides income tax) for all advertising revenue earned from programs like Google Adsense in India. Though the debate goes on and there is still lack of clarity on the issue, a poll on our site reveals interesting data.

In an anonymous poll with a total 100 votes, the results reveal that 13% paid service tax last year, 13% intend to start paying service tax this financial year. 24% knew that service tax had to be paid, but did not pay. A large proportion of 50% people had no idea that any service tax issues were there.
