Live Earth Global Music Concerts: Internet Broadcasting Milestone

Live Earth is a global 24-hour, 7-continent concert series that brings together more than 2 billion people and more than 100 music artists on July 7, 2007 to combat the climate crisis. Live Earth staged concerts in New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Hamburg featuring top music artists with a worldwide call to action on the issue.

MSN issued a press release stating that with over 10 million streams delivered, it represents a milestone in live Internet broadcasting. As viewers worldwide watch the Live Earth concerts via the live webcast, and the LiveEarth.MSN.com, it represented the most simultaneous viewers of any online concert ever. MSN is the exclusive online media partner for Live Earth, allows people to watch live online feeds or recorded footage from earlier performances at no charge from all eight concerts, each located in different cities around the world.

Live Earth was founded by Kevin Wall, the Worldwide Executive Producer of Live 8, an global event to combat poverty. He partnered with Al Gore, Former U.S. Vice President, and the Alliance for Climate Protection to herald the beginning of this multi-year campaign to combat climate crisis.
