i got my 360 three years ago to this last christmas, therfor it is out of the extended warranty, i now have the three rings of the red ring of death, can anyone tell me the cheapest way to get it fixed without being scammed? i want to try the new cod modern warfare 2 but its hard with a broken x box

ok stop hating people. … if your not an idiot you would just go to xbox.com, then go to support, click on request repair and fallow instructions. if your under the extended three year warranty your covered completely. you can either print your get mailed a ups shipping lable. god man, it does not take a genius to figure this out.. we all know xbox is better then ps3.. woopy doo! you got a blue ray player.

Actually, if you try to register the console online and can’t because its previous user registered it, just call Microsoft’s support hotline, and once you get a tech ask them to transfer the registration to your name/LIVE account. I got mine used through eBay too (and it was already registered to someone else), and when the tech guy registered it to my account, I found out it was still eligible for the three year warranty! Hopefully this will work for you too.

dude really? thats bull. it wouldnt melt the motherboard! eventually when something gets hot enough it just stops running. now if it did overheat then it would probably damage it but it wouldnt melt it. so both statments are kinda true

if it has 4 rings flashing i think it means that the audio/video cord is not plugged in or broken

gamestop will take it in but they wont give a lot of money… maybe 30 bucks and they wont fix it for you either… after that all you can do is put that small amount of money towards a refurbished one from the same store cause that would be the cheapest solution. its better to keep your 360, call 1-800-4my-xbox and ask them how to send it in to have it repaired or replaced for free, or really cheap. gamestop sucks, dont trust them…

microsoft should not try to get more money from customers after all the money we’ve spent on games, the console itself, xbox live, gamerpoints. im not covered by warranty anymore and im pissed off that there isnt a lifetime warranty on that piece of crap console!!!! three red rings was created by microsoft to purposly make more money adding up to millions of $$ in profit allready.
