Download Apple iPhone v1.0.1 Security Update via iTunes

After the grand premiere of the Apple iPhone at Apple Retail Stores nationwide in US a month back, Apple has identified some iphone security issues and released a v1.0.1 update which can be downloaded and installed via iTunes.

You can read the details of the iPhone v1.0.1 Update which fixes some security loopholes like a malicious website may allow cross-site scripting, arbitrary code execution or an unexpected application termination.

This iphone update is only available through iTunes, and will not appear in your computer’s Software Update application, or on the Apple Support Downloads site. iTunes automatically checks Apple’s update server weekly and will download new updates. To go faster, you can obtain the update via the “Check for Updates” button or menu choice in iTunes. Then this update can be applied when your iPhone is docked to your computer.

Confirm the iPhone has been updated: Go to Settings > General > About.
