Yahoo! Shopping Deal of The Day Powered by Woot!

We talked earlier about Woot!, an online store and community that focuses on selling cool stuff cheap. They sell only one item per day until it is sold out or until 11:59pm central time when it is replaced. Now the popular Yahoo! Shopping “Deal of The Day” is powered by Woot!

They announced that Woot and Yahoo! will be partners in a new venture called Sellout.Woot.

“They came to Woot with the idea that we could spruce up Yahoo! Shopping by offering an exclusive daily deal through them. Fortunately for us, they also wheeled up a barrowful of sweet, metaphorical cash, in the form of access to their gigunda audience of shoppers who’ve never met Woot. Far be it from us to pass up an opportunity to synergize! We’re, uh, idealistic that way. The upshot is that Sellout.Woot will offer a Woot-style daily deal that’s different from the one on Woot.com, seven days a week.”

Visit Yahoo! Shopping and the Deal of the Day is featured huge on the front page. This is a great success for Woot! and Yahoo! must be sending huge traffic to them. This shows how unique business ideas (like Woot!) are noted and utilized in the current web times.
