MyBlogLog Problogger Contest: For US Residents Only!
November 12th, 2007How fast can you grow your MyBlogCommunity this month? If you believe that you can add the maximum number of community members, MyBlogLog has prizes lined up for giveaway.
Read the Official Rules of the MyBlogLog Problogger Contest. Community owners will compete against each other to see who can grow their community the most between November 8 – 30. The winner will be announced live from the floor of PubCon in Las Vegas.
The leaderboard is tracking the top 100 communities which are growing fastest. Note that the fineprint at the end says “Sites and Blogs in this list may not eligible to win the contest. All results are unofficial until the winner is verified by the judges.” This is important because of a major limitation that the contest is open only to U.S. residents who are 16 or older (and I do see some non-US resident blogs listed there!). The good part is that you can register your blog right now and your growth will still be measured from the first day of the contest to the last day.
This clause means that we cannot participate due to non-US criteria. But you can still join the QOT community and be part of a great network of bloggers.
Update: Under pressure from protesting international bloggers, Mybloglog clarified the reason for the US-only contest.
“Our percentage of non-US users is way higher than our percentage of US users and in a perfect world, all of you international users *deserve* a shot at this. However, we are not yet technically ‘internationalized’ and for now promotions of this sort, where there is any monetary value, really have to be US only.”
They say “not yet technically ‘internationalized’. Just for reminders – Mybloglog is a Yahoo! service. ;-)
