Barack Obama Following Me on Twitter!
February 28th, 2008As the US Presidential Elections debates continue, candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have started microblogging on Twitter. Can you believe that Obama is following me on Twitter!
Check out @BarackObama on Twitter, with 6661 followers and following 6793 people. While @hillaryclinton on Twitter has 1409 followers and following 0 people. There is no way to determine if these are the official twitter pages of these US Presidential candidates. But the profile link urls, and content seems to suggest these may be the official twitter pages. Twitter was a good move to gain votes and interact with the blogosphere.
So did Obama actually click to follow me? As soon as I started following Obama, I received an email that Obama was following me. Obama did a smart move to follow all those who follow him, or so it seems. Some Twitter tool does this automatically.
Either way it was a good election campaign move, and @BarackObama on Twitter following 6793 people definitely sounds better than @hillaryclinton on Twitter following 0 people. Did you note that they also capitalized first letters for better web visibility – BarackObama vs. hillaryclinton.
Update: Obama now has over 1 million followers on Twitter and is by far the most follower person on Twitter.

I just started using Twitter and I think its really cool and fun :P
He now seems to have around 12943 followers and is following 12276 people. The way twitter is gaining popularity.

whats so great about that? it is most likely a “corporate marketing” team doing the same for him or an automatic process. i am also following him and he is also following me. like thousands of others. big deal. and so is hillary clinton.

it is a tool. i just added him and 2 seconds later i followed me, even if i just started the account
yeah it was pretty sweet. he’s still following me. but, looks like he had to quit the auto-follow app once his follower-count sky-rocketed!
