I recommend to also set the default cookie life at the 90 days’ mark. Also, do offer your affiliates cookie life increases (to 180 and 365/unlimited days) as a bonus for their activity in your affiliate program.

As an affiliate myself, cookies is one of the main things I look for when selecting a company to promote on top of a few other things.

Another cool idea for extra visibility is to use press releases. There are tons of free press release sites, which will not only give you more exposure but will also provide powerful high PR backlinks to your site.
