Hm like you, SuperCache works fine on my blog and I feel a bit reluctant to try something else unless the feature is too nice to be skipped

Wordpress users are so used to simply using FTP and activating the plugins, that installing memecached can be a stumbling block. But then its not for everyone…

I don’t think that it is for sharing hosting users. You need to install memecached first and in shared hosting it is not possible.
