Join Technorati Media Blog Advertising Network

Technorati has just launched Technorati Media – an advertising network to enable blog and social media publishers at every level to maximize online advertising revenues. As Technorati Media freshly opens its doors, I am sure bloggers will line up to join the network.

Technorati is a popular index of the blogosphere, indexing more than 1.5 million posts daily. Technorati Media promises high CPMs and claims to have a national sales team with a record of success from top tier networks and destinations including Google, MSN, Yahoo!, Fox Interactive Media, CNET, Tribal Fusion, Washington Post, Time Inc, and Adteractive.

Bloggers can apply right now and they will review if your site fits their blog advertising requirements. The form has a traffic drop down option of >100,000 uniques and pageviews per month, which makes me wonder if they will be opening to larger publishers first using that benchmark. The advertiser pitch is also strong.

I used to be impressed by high CPMs, but actually it is the daily budget which is important. Scattered over thousands of sites any budget falls short, and higher the CPM, the faster it falls shorter and this leads to poor ad fill rate and poor earnings.
