Preparing your blog is a well recommended step. You need to be prepared to welcome the incoming traffic.

If you ask me, writing a guest post requires two articles…one for the host blog and one for your own blog which will be live at the top at the time when your guest article goes live. Your blog should have that kind of content to show at the time of guest post being published.

BTW pls correct the bullet numbers in your post.

Very good post. Two more tips which you could add are (1) submit a high quality guest post and try to make it more comprehensive than your normal posts, and (2) don’t forget about preparing your blog before guest posting (i.e. displaying your RSS sign-up prominantly and ensuring people clicking through are presented with a high quality blog post).
