WordPress Plugin Competition Winners

September 14th, 2008
ADVERTISEMENTS

The winners of the WordPress Plugin 2.5 Competition have been announced and there are some powerful wordpress plugins which have emerged winners out of the all the plugins in the contest. Check them out.

The Grand Prize Winner is WP Comment Remix which promises to save you time and effort when running your blog. And it is loaded with powerful features made possible only by using multiple plugins.

  • For readers – Find the Reply Link (which adds a Reply link to each comment, which, when clicked, adds “@OriginalPoster”, and links it to the anchor of that comment), Quote Link (adds the entire comment in a blockquote tag), Comment Ordering (lets you choose how you want to order the comments), Separate or Remove Trackbacks (lets you choose to separate the Trackbacks from the comments and move them to the bottom of the list, or remove them completely), and Comment Tags (allows readers find comments more easily).
  • In admin area – New ‘In Need Of Reply’ notifier (adds a button, similar to the “Awaiting Moderation” button that tells you how many comments are in need of a reply, and when clicked, takes you to a list of those comments), New Links In Comment Admin Area (adds new links to each comment display: Edit, Reply, Quote, and Mark Replied) and Added AJAX functionality on the Manage Posts page (lets you click on the comments image on the Manage Posts page and the comments for that post will drop down in the same window, so you can edit them right there!)
  • 4 powerful new widgetsRecent Comments Remix (controls the look and feel of the display of recent comments), Recent Trackbacks Remix (pulls trackbacks from the recent comments), Most Active Discussions (displays posts with the highest comment counts), Most Active Commenters (honor frequent commenters)

The Second Prize Winner is Manageable -  A WordPress plugin that allows inline editing of the date, title, author, categories, tags, status and more on both posts and pages without leaving the “Manage” admin sections. No need to load each post or page individually.  Simply double-click anywhere in the post or page row and when you’re done, press enter.  Alternately, you can click the link in the new “Edit” column.

The Third Prize Winner is WP Easy Uploader – allows an Administrator to add plugins, themes, and any type of file to WordPress directly from inside WordPress. You no longer have to load up an FTP client just to try out that latest plugin or to upload a text document for people to download.

Now I need to update the list of 50 best wordpress plugins also.
