Mostly good tips, but I have to strongly disagree with sending commenters email unless they explicitly agree to or ask for it. Calling an automated email “personalized” is an oxymoron. No automated response of any kind is ever personal or welcoming. There is enough spam on the Internet as it is.

If you want to show a commenter your appreciation, you should instead post a personal response on your blog.

Using personalized E-Mail addresses matching the blog domain name certainly does give that professional feel to the readers.

I think the custom feedburner URL is not used by many bloggers. Whatever may be the reason, this technique is less popular in my opinion.
