Uninstall the Sp2 and check for your sound driver type,after download the sound drivers and install the Sp2.If the sound driver still doesn’t come install the sound driver you downloaded.It easy!!!

Seems like your chipset/vga drivers don’t like SP2. Try updating laptop drivers first, and then apply SP2.

I tried to download Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista. A few seconds into it, the screen changed to blue and white small checkers(color scheme might have been due to the web site I had open in the background at the time). The computer was not responsive, not even when I pressed control+alt+delete. I had to shut it down by pressing the power button. Since then, I can not turn the computer back on. I tried over the course of several days. The screen remains black, and the computer whirrs on and the blue lights on the keyboard turn on for about 30 seconds; then it shuts down and the cycle repeats. Is this a software or hardware problem?
