I wonder if I can just buy the new battery and use on my Late 2008 model MBP. It’s the same as the current model (LED Backlit, Dual GPU, etc) except the SD card change.

Anyone tried this?

i doubted this as well but after buying one myself. i was surprized at how i can use my MPB for 6-8 hours without problems. if i am running parallels. then it drops to about 2.5 -3 hrs but running normal mac programs and simple web surfing, chatting, and itunes allowed 6-8 hrs. 8 hrs only happens if only safari/firefox is on with no other programs running. and display light at lowest though.

Mac Book is great to own but the price is to high compared to other laptops. How I wish i could have one and also I doubt if the battery will last for 7 hours when the performance of the laptop is in its highest… Maybe 5 hours…

Why would anybody ever buy a Vista? Let’s say the dell does have that long of a battery life. Ok, we have established that. Now it is still is hugely inferior.

to be able to achieve such a long battery life, one have to sacrifice performance, brightness of LCD, no Wifi and more.

The battery are still more of less of the same technology, unless they decided to go nuclear, I doubt we are gonna have a good notebook experience over battery life.
