I don’t think it’s good to use snow fall effect.. unless it’s purely in the background and not on any part of the contents.

For example, in this online tips blog, there are blue gradient background at the sides. If the snow falls on them should be fine… and definitely not snow falling over the centre white column where all the texts are located.

Seriously, webmasters should use it appropriately because some similar effect will block hyperlinks or buttons.

Moreover, it’s quite distracting to the reader! It will definitely draw some attention away from the main thing – contents – as well.

Thanks for the “snow” info. This page had a hard time loading and I don’t usually have that problem. Still kind of cool with the snowflakes. Being able to decide the amount of snowflakes could be fun to play around with.
