How to to make your PC run smoothly? Personal computers have become an inherent part of our lives and are very helpful in keeping the personal as well as business data safe and secure. To ensure that a PC continues to work fine, it is necessary to perform various maintenance activities.

Keep the firewall protection on as it will protect your PC from the unwanted interferers. Three free firewall products I recommend are: PC Tools Firewall Plus (totally free for Windows without limitations or time-limit), COMODO Internet Security and ZoneAlarm Free Firewall.
Temp files, downloaded Internet files, and old, unused files can occupy space in your PC. Do regular disk cleanup using tools available or you can also do so manually. Regularly delete files from the Recycle Bin to remove all the unneeded files from the computer. Remove all the cookies from the PC as they are unneeded and will occupy computer’s memory and slows down its performance.
You should also install a Registry Cleaner tool from the internet. It will increase the efficiency of the PC as well as make the hardware and software run smoothly. Run this regularly weekly for best results. There are a few popular free Registry Cleaners you can get online: Registry Mechanic, Registry Easy and Registry Fix. Also there are a few commercial Registry Cleaner tools I recommend: Registryrid, WiseCleaner and Registry Medic.
Keep checking for spyware and adware infection by installing spyware detectors. A high-quality Anti Virus program also helps you detect these. Spyware/Malware/Adware are very infectious and make the PC run very slow and sometimes even damage your system and invade your personal data. All the software installed in your computer must be regularly updated so that they can work efficiently. Nowadays most software have auto update facility and they prompt for updating them. Sometimes it may happen that your computer is not infected but still it is running slow. The reason for this is the installed programs require more memory for smooth running than that is available in your PC. So the solution for this is to add more RAM.
Backups help to preserve the data and important files stored within the computer. Backup creation is an easy process; you just need to copy your important data in another hard drive or pen drive/USB Sticks etc. depending on the amount of data. USB drives and sticks are convenient and portable.
Make sure that you clean your PC to ensure that dust does not harm its components. CPU fan must be cleaned regularly to avoid dust and small debris which can harm your PC in many ways. CPU fan plays an important role in making the computer run faster. The computer monitor also must be cleaned. You can do so using the household glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
When your PC is not in use, ensure that you turn it off. Also, don’t turn off the PC directly from the power switch till the Windows shuts down completely.

3) Switch keys on keyboard

In this prank we will use SharpKeys. It is simple and small software built as a registry hack, which can easily change your keyboard keys. Just install SharpKeys and change numbers or letters on your friends PC and have a fun.

Download SharpKeys. Open SharpKey and click Add. After this will open window, with two sides, from key to key. There are list of keys that you can change, but you can type your own key, click type key.

1. Ditto – Ditto is an open source extension to the standard Windows Clipboard. You can store text, images, HTML, or any custom formatted content onto the clipboard. It has a simple and easy to use interface and a lot of cool features. For example, you can search previous copy entries and you can also keep multiple clipboards from multiple computers in sync with each other! And the data is encrypted when sent over the network. Even better! It also uses a database backend, so accessing and storing clipped content is super fast. Overall, it’s one of my favorites.

2. xNeat – This little program is really tiny! It weighs in at only 644KB! If you want something that will let you store more items in your clipboard and not eat up very much RAM, then xNeat is the clipboard manager for you. Of course, it’s not as fancy as Ditto, basically allowing you to bring up a menu with a list of all the items you have copied to the clipboard. You can setup hotkey also to make the copying and pasting very efficient.

3. Clipboard Manager – If you love using the Sidebar in Windows Vista and Windows 7, then you’re going to like clipboard manager. It’s actually a Windows Live Gallery gadget. Since it’s a gadget, it runs in the Windows Sidebar and lets you manage your clips from the sidebar itself, which is pretty neat. The copied items show up in a nice list that is also styled just like your sidebar.

4. Ten Clips – Another lightweight and easy to use clipboard manager is Ten Clips. Everything can be controlled by hotkeys, so you never have to use the mouse. If you work with any kind of data where you are always copying and pasting between programs, Ten Clips will make it much easier. It’s main standout feature is that you can quickly paste “purified” text, which means it removes all formatting and paste in uppercase or lowercase.

5. PasteCopy.NET – Though this program requires the .NET Framework to be installed, it works really well on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003/2008. It also is the only clipboard manager in the list to support multiple languages. It has some cool features like auto convert of HTML to RTF or TXT and auto convert of RTF to TXT. What’s really cool, though, is that you can mouse over and see a preview of the actual clipped item. It also has an export and print function built in.
