1) Warning Message

Here is one of coolest joke programs called Message Manager Lite. This program allow you to setup a message dialog for display on another user’s computer and it is great for making someone think an error has occurred on their computer. How you can use it ? For example, when you have access to friends computer, download Message Manager Lite and install it, write warning message and set the time for displaying. It looks like this :

2) The Blue Screen of Death

This is probably the last thing we want to see on our screen. If you want to watch your friend freak out, download BlueScreen screensaver.  After you’ve downloaded the screensaver, take the file SysInternalsBluescreen.scr and copy it to C:\Windows … Now just apply the changes by right clicking on the Desktop/Screensaver > you’ll find the Bluescreensaver in the list

There are a few things we still have to do and those are to remove the icons and the taskbar from the desktop. To remove the icons right-click on the desktop and in the “Arrange Icons By” uncheck “Show Desktop Icons” option.

To remove the taskbar, right-click it, unlock it and drag the border of the taskbar to the bottom of the screen.

3) Switch keys on keyboard

In this prank we will use SharpKeys. It is simple and small software built as a registry hack, which can easily change your keyboard keys. Just install SharpKeys and change numbers or letters on your friends PC and have a fun.

Download SharpKeys. Open SharpKey and click Add. After this will open window, with two sides, from key to key. There are list of keys that you can change, but you can type your own key, click type key.

Restart your computer and change will take effect.

I use Google Reader for RSS reading daily and today stumbled upon this easter egg called Ninja mode that causes Ninjas to appear in the sidebar and hearts to bloom and break in Google Reader.

Matt Cutts from Google reveals this easter egg in the video below and you can try the secret code and enjoy it. I know most QOT readers use Google reader, so if you are reading this in Google Reader right now, see the video and test the magic for yourself.

In case you did not catch that video, in Google Reader press following keys in this order – Up arrow, Up arrow, Down arrow, Down arrow, Left arrow, Right arrow, Left arrow, Right arrow, B key, and lastly A key. See the Ninja! Break a heart!

I am having a great time playing Monopoly City Streets live on Google Maps for the past few days. It a superb new version of Monopoly that takes the player right to his own city and lets them buy and trade real streets on Google maps in real time.

I kept looking around for a registration link for quite some time, but only after you decide to buy a  street, does the register user link jump out. So I suggest the best way to get started is to go ahead and decide to buy a street.

Play Monopoly City Streets

I started with M3,000,000 Monopoly Dollars by default and that is not a lot of money if you see the high price of real estate you intend to buy, and if it has a few houses or bonus buildings, then its never enough.

Loaded with my money in millions, I headed straight to New Delhi, and was greeted with lots of blue streets, which were already owned by other players. I could not find any Purple streets, which are owned by the bank, and easier and cheaper to buy as all these streets were already bought. The only option was to buy streets from other players, but the rates were really high.

I tried to buy streets from many professional players, but the selling rates were high and most offers were rejected. I am still trying to bag a deal and own my favorite streets if possible. Then I realized that I could buy a street any where in the world! I could buy streets in London, New York, Singapore, anywhere… and in fact in many of these places it is cheaper to buy streets. Another cool thing is that if players do not respond to your buy request in 1 week (or they dont login!), you win over that street at the buy price!

The rent from these streets and property can help you earn lots of rent income easily.  The more rent you receive, the more streets you can buy and the bigger your property empire becomes. A great thing is that you earn rent from your properties every day, even if you don’t play. Buy properties in a bunch of streets together and  in populated areas and see boost your rental income.

It also seems the more I play, the better luck I have of getting a Chance card, which can change my fortunes and help me sabotage my friends streets. A Hazard Chance card lets you construct buildings such as Power Plants, Prisons and Sewage Works, which totally destroy the rental value of the property. A Bulldozer Chance card enables you to demolish any Hazard that may have been placed on a street you own. A Bonus Building Chance card protects your top earning streets to make sure your friends can’t place any Hazard buildings there and sabotage your rent.

You can even mark your friend and family and play with them to own your entire neighbourhood. There are 6 status levels that you can rise to and then keep unlocking bigger and better buildings to construct, till the huge MONOPOLY Tower skyscraper.

The longest total solar eclipse is occurring on July 22, 2009 and for the first time in India, you can book an Eclipse flight air ticket and see this celestial event at 41,000 feet flying high above the thick Indian monsoon clouds.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, and they all line up so that the Sun is fully or partially covered.  A total solar eclipse is a rare natural phenomenon and people travel to remote locations across the world to observe it, while earning travel agents a good buck.

This year, NASA says that “On Wednesday, 2009 July 22, a total eclipse of the Sun is visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half of Earth. After leaving mainland Asia, the path crosses Japan’s Ryukyu Islands and curves southeast through the Pacific Ocean where the maximum duration of totality reaches 6 min 39 s.”

Have you noticed many Twitter avatars / icons on Twitter profiles have a green color shade. Make your Twitter Avatar Green and join the new revolution on Twitter to support the Iranian election protests.

TC found that this url now officially belongs to Christine Shipley, who got this brilliant idea to get this url instead of being like everyone who was busy grabbing their names, or alternative versions of it with dots, last names, first names, dates, letters and what not. I browsed there for more cool urls.
