A lazyweb request. Somebody I know asked for a tool to *export* their IE (firefox etc) bookmarks to del.icio.us. They want a quick way to populate their del.ico.us page with links they’ve already saved.

I also wonder if a CSV import might be useful as an intermediate format for moving bookmarks from other systems to del.icio.us. .

    • AYorba says:

Scripted Re-Mark is a service for batch editing your delicious bookmarks. You can apply search-and-replace rules (regular expressions) to your bookmarks titles, URLs, notes and tags.

  2. Julian says:

Note also that several of the services have gone off line. Nutricious and gregarious for two.

Hi, I’ve been searching the web for a step-by-step, idiot proof way to export my Firefox bookmarks to delicious. I came across Elliot Smith’s script but was not able to implement it successfully in Windows XP. His script also presumed a familiarity with Python, a familiarity I do not possess. The BunnyHug updater also did not work for me because I could not install .1.1 .Net framework. Could you or anyone pls provide some help? It would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I’m seeking a tool that will export all the bookmarks (and info – extended description, tags, users, #users bookmarked, date) from a particular tag used by all delicious users. Ideally, it would be exported into an excel spreadsheet. Any suggestions?

  12. John says:

I’ve reworked an existing script for tagging Google Blogger posts so that it will output one set of tags that are valid in both del.icio.us and technorati.

    Here’s the script.
Here’s my Freshblog post about it.

    If gre.gario.us is gone:
gre.gario.us is no longer an active site, why is it listed here? When can we hope for a replacement?

Vertabrett – the del.icio.us crew are getting ready to roll out a recommendation system now, they’re just waiting for more hardware.

  16. John says:

Is there a way to put a clickable (dropdown?) list of my del.icio.us tags in the sidebar of my site without hand-coding? I’m using del.icio.us for categories & I’d like to be able to send people straight to my tag pages instead of to my del.icio.us page…

  17. Marjolein Hoekstra says:

I’d like to see an extension to the existing feature set of del.icio.us that allows me to grab my own (partial) snapshot of a specific part of a web page to store with the bookmark.
As far as I can tell there is no online bookmarking service yet that allows me to add custom visuals to a bookmark. I have seen wists, but it’s not customizeable.

SnagIt can take the snapshots that I want (sometimes a website logo, sometimes some other part that sparks my interest), it’s just that there’s no way I can properly store that image in my list.

Of course RSS export capabilities are essential, so desktop products are not an alternative.

I’d be delighted to learn if anyone has already designed this.

  18. Peter Cooper says:

John, yes, there is. Go to Feed Digest.com, paste in your del.icio.us *RSS* feed URL, then use the JavaScript or PHP include code to add your del.icio.us links to your site.

    2 questions

1- is there a bulk tagging function/api out there for delicious? i have 1200 unfiled bookmarks

2- what software is used to post on this site?

  26. John says:

I’m reworking for Google Blogger again… This time making 2 new versions of an existing bookmarklet. Both add functions to blogger’s blogthis! bookmarklet. The first automatically adds tags that link to an individual’s del.icio.us acct. The second adds tags that link to the del.icio.us page for that tag. See Freshblog for the scoop.

  27. Anonymous says:

I just released Revealicious, which is a set of 3 interactive visualisation to browse your del.icio.us tags and search for posts matching the selected tags.

    Revealicious is available at http://www.ivy.fr/404.html

  28. Rob says:

There is a del.icio.us firefox toolbar floating around for sometime now: delic123
I am surprised it didn’t make it to here.

  29. Crispy says:

I’ve created a bookmarklet generator which allows you to tag books that you browse in Amazon.com.
It standardizes the URL so that del.icio.us recognizes two entries for the same book as being the same.
It trims the title, so you just get the name of the book.
It takes any selected text on the page, and plops it into the extended description.
It preselects the tag “books” for you.
It returns you to the browsed book after tagging it in del.icio.us
It usually works with Barnes & Noble too, but doesn’t like URL’s with UPC codes instead of ISBN (more work to do!)

Currently it supports Internet Explorer, but a Firefox version is coming soon.
