Lists of Digg Clones, Pliggs, Meneame and Memediggers

Digg is undoubtedly one of the most popular sites where you can “Digg” for stories. Recently they released the Digg v3 with some more cool features. But Digg is not alone or unique on the web. How many digg clones or Digg styled applications are there? There are several hundred of them…

Possibly the longest list is at 3spots, which has over 250 digg style applications. Their sites are classified as Digg-Style (same basic features: submit, comments voting or rating) and Pligg or Meneame Clones (a free CMS with tags, plugins, templates, icons, vote buttons, language customization, podcast support and advanced user profiles with gravatars) and those in other languages.

If that list is difficult to check out due to its sheer size, Shii has another list of Digg clones, where links are listed in order of number of votes that the most popular site got on the front page. There are more Digg’s Friends and Relations that have been voted for. Actually Mashable calls them Memedigger – that use explicit human-powered voting systems to deliver the most popular, relevant or interesting items.
