Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac Released

Parallels Desktop for Mac enables you to run Windows, Linux, and other applications with Mac OS X on any Intel-powered Mac, without rebooting. And it just got better with a major release of the Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac.

The press release says that this is the first major update since the launch of the Parallels Desktop for Mac in June 2006, and introduces over 50 new features, enhancements and improvements that make running Windows and Mac software at the same time on a single Intel-based Mac easier and more seamless than ever before.

Some notable new features on Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac are
# Snapshots instantly saves the state of your virtual machine, bulletproofing your VM from mishaps and system crashes.
# Security Manager allows you to control the amount of interaction between Windows and Mac OS X
# 3D Graphics lets you run today’s most popular PC games on a Mac
# SmartSelect allows you to open Windows files with Mac programs and Mac files in Windows programs
# Parallels Explorer allows you to access your Windows system without launch Windows

Apple Mac computer users will be happy to buy this new version to run Windows softwares. A more official Apple version is Boot Camp, that lets you install and run Windows on your Mac. They recently released Boot Camp 1.3 beta that contains several updates and is intended for all new and previous Boot Camp beta users.
