How does this magic happen?\u00a0 Its a secret setting in Feedburner.<\/p>\n<p>Until recently it would take from a few minutes to an hour for our latest article to get indexed by all RSS readers like Google Reader. This is because these readers periodically check feed updates. Now it happens instantly!<\/p>\n<p>As you are aware, we use a default Feedburner feed to route our WordPress RSS feed. Feedburner is a Google service and has a setting called Pingshot, which notifies RSS readers of new blog updates. Activate Pingshot and your articles will also start getting instantly updated like us. (Note we use an edited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2006\/04\/wordpress-ping-lists\/\">WordPress ping list<\/a> to directly ping Feedburner).<\/p>\n<p><em>Go to Feedburner dashboard &gt; Publicize &gt; Pingshot<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"499\" height=\"186\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11571\" title=\"pingshot\" src=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/pingshot.png\" alt=\"pingshot\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/pingshot.png 499w, https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/pingshot-150x55.png 150w, https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/pingshot-300x111.png 300w, https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/pingshot-270x100.png 270w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Post your article, and check if it hits your Google reader instantly.
