How can you increase your website traffic? I\u2019ve been working online for a few years now and what I\u2019ve found is that a website is nothing without traffic.\u00a0 If you\u2019re struggling to get traffic, you\u2019re going to find that your blog \/ website is pretty much useless.\u00a0 Thankfully, there are things that you can do today, as well for the future than can draw in hundreds, if not thousands to your website.<\/p>\n

Increase Website Traffic<\/h2>\n

  1. Just write:<\/strong> Make it a habit to write at least 4-5 articles a day.\u00a0 Don\u2019t just scrap up some content.\u00a0 You want to make it something people want to link to.\u00a0 Over time, your age will play an important role for search engine optimization factors.<\/li>\n
  2. Guest posts:<\/strong> Do what I\u2019m doing right now!\u00a0 Contact blogs that relate to your niche.\u00a0 Even if you can\u2019t find anything about guest posting<\/a> on the blog, throw them a proposal, and see what they say.<\/li>\n
  3. StumbleUpon: <\/strong> I\u2019ve found\u00a0 StumbleUpon.com to draw a ton of traffic<\/a>.\u00a0 The key here again is to create something unique and worth promoting.\u00a0 If it\u2019s good enough, it will spread like wild fire.<\/li>\n
  4. Facebook fan page:<\/strong> As of late, I\u2019ve found this one to work really well.\u00a0 The key here is to make something that people want to become a fan of.\u00a0 For example, if you have a website about colleges, you may want to start a fan page about \u201cI hate doing homework\u201d, etc.\u00a0 Make sure that you link to your site on the Facebook info page.<\/li>\n
  5. Twitter:<\/strong> Find those that are in your niche.\u00a0 Follow them and communicate with them.\u00a0 The nice ones will ReTweet<\/a> your articles, which can help your traffic.<\/li>\n
  6. Craigslist:<\/strong> If you\u2019re running a service, Craigslist is a great way to obviously advertise.\u00a0 Don\u2019t go overboard with this one though.\u00a0 Post here and there and see what kind of response that you get.<\/li>\n
  7. Forums:<\/strong> There is a message board out there for everyone.\u00a0 Whether you\u2019re writing about dogs, cats, or whatever it may be, you can find a place.\u00a0 Post weekly and leave a link in your signature if they allow it.<\/li>\n
  8. Contact the media:<\/strong> A lot of people don\u2019t know about this, but if you join the\u00a0HARO program<\/a>, it\u2019s 100% free, and you can have the media request stories.\u00a0 If you can give them a story, contact them, and you may find yourself on a huge media outlet.\u00a0 This one works really well.<\/li>\n
  9. Create videos:<\/strong> You don\u2019t have to be a professional to be a video creator.\u00a0 Make some videos; upload them to the top video directories online.\u00a0 Watermark them with your URL, as well as put it in the description as well.<\/li>\n
  10. Article directories:<\/strong> This one works the best for me.\u00a0 Write up some articles that are related to your site.\u00a0 Link back in the footer and you will find since these major sites such as EzineArticles and GoArticles have a high reputation, your article will rank fairly fast.<\/li>\n
  11. Write an EHow article:<\/strong> EHow, just like the article directories is another great way to promote your articles.\u00a0 Write up some how-to articles, and link to your site in the links section.\u00a0 You can even make decent side money here as well!<\/li>\n
  12. Link out to others:<\/strong> This isn\u2019t going to bring your traffic right away, but if you can send other people traffic, they may return the favor for you.<\/li>\n
  13. Hold a contest:<\/strong> I ran a contest before giving away a simple gift card and the turnout was amazing.\u00a0 Hold contests<\/a> on your site.\u00a0 Announce them on Facebook \/ Twitter and watch people flock to your site.<\/li>\n
  14. Blog carnivals:<\/strong> Blog carnivals are a great way to get your articles out.\u00a0 Use free sites such as BlogCarnival.com that can help you link with other blog owners.\u00a0 Give them your article and if it\u2019s good enough, they will post it on their \u201ccarnival.\u201d<\/li>\n
  15. Network:<\/strong> Get out there, stop hiding behind a rock, and network with those out there.\u00a0 Attend conferences if you have to.\u00a0 When you get to know people, they are going to be more than willing to link to your stuff.<\/li>\n
  16. Digg:<\/strong> This is a harder one, but if you can take your time, create something wonderful, and spread the word on Digg<\/a>, you can really get massive amounts of traffic, if you can hit the front page.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Out of everything, I\u2019ve found that patience pays off.\u00a0 Organic searches through major search engines are going to be your best friend.\u00a0 Keep on writing on a weekly basis, promote it, and I can promise you that your hard work will pay on in the years to come!<\/p>\n
