When Flash reached end of life, Zynga shut down the original FarmVille on Facebook on 31 December 2020. FarmVille 2 later moved off Facebook too. Zynga&#8217;s current farming game, FarmVille 3, is a mobile app on Android and iPhone, so it no longer floods Facebook walls. You can read about the original game in our post on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2009\/11\/play-farmville-facebook-game-on-farmville-com\/\">playing FarmVille on Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The steps below work for any Facebook game or app that sends you notifications, invites or posts.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_turn_off_Facebook_game_notifications\"><\/span>How to turn off Facebook game notifications<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the <strong>Notifications<\/strong> bell on Facebook (app or website).<\/li>\n<li>Find a notification from the game.<\/li>\n<li>Tap the <strong>three dots (\u2026)<\/strong> next to it.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <strong>Turn off notifications like this<\/strong> or <strong>Turn off notifications from this game<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To review all notification types at once, go to <strong>Settings &amp; privacy &gt; Settings &gt; Notifications<\/strong> and switch off push, email and SMS alerts for the categories you don&#8217;t want.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_block_Facebook_game_requests_and_invites\"><\/span>How to block Facebook game requests and invites<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If one friend keeps sending game invites:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to <strong>Settings &amp; privacy &gt; Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Blocking<\/strong> (use the search box in Settings if you can&#8217;t see it).<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Block app invites<\/strong>, type your friend&#8217;s name and select them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Future app and game invites from that friend are ignored automatically, but you stay friends and still see their normal posts. To stop one game entirely, add its name under <strong>Block apps<\/strong> on the same page. A blocked app can&#8217;t contact you or get your Facebook information.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_hide_game_posts_from_your_news_feed\"><\/span>How to hide game posts from your news feed<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Click the <strong>three dots<\/strong> on a game post in your feed.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <strong>Hide post<\/strong>, or <strong>Hide all from [game]<\/strong> if Facebook offers it.<\/li>\n<li>To see fewer gaming posts in general, open <strong>Feeds<\/strong> or <strong>Feed preferences<\/strong> and snooze or unfollow pages and groups that post them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_remove_a_game_from_your_Facebook_account\"><\/span>How to remove a game from your Facebook account<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Old games you logged into with Facebook can still have access to your profile. Clean them out:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to <strong>Settings &amp; privacy &gt; Settings &gt; Apps and websites<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Review the <strong>Active<\/strong> list of apps and games.<\/li>\n<li>Select the ones you no longer use and click <strong>Remove<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Tick the option to delete posts, photos and videos the app published on your timeline, if you want them gone too.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you never want apps to use your Facebook login, you can also turn off <strong>Apps, websites and games<\/strong> on that page. This is much faster than removing posts one by one as we did in 2010.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Stop_game_emails\"><\/span>Stop game emails<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Game emails usually come from the game company, not Facebook. Use the <strong>Unsubscribe<\/strong> link at the bottom of the email, or remove the app as shown above so it no longer has your email address.
