I am in a habit of customizing my default WordPress feed to include more relevant content like comments, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2006\/07\/add-related-posts-to-your-feed-increase-pageviews\/\">related posts<\/a>, copyright statements and Categories. But when I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2007\/05\/wordpress-22-is-mandatory-security-upgrade\/\">upgraded to WordPress 2.2<\/a> recently, all my feed customization was lost. I proceeded to investigate the issue&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-27950\" title=\"feed-rss2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/feed-rss2.png\" alt=\"feed rss file\" width=\"337\" height=\"223\" border=\"1\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/feed-rss2.png 337w, https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/feed-rss2-150x99.png 150w, https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/feed-rss2-300x198.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 337px) 100vw, 337px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Till the last version you needed to customize the <strong>wp-rss2.php<\/strong> file in the root of your wordpress installation to modify your feed. In wordpress 2.2, the wp-rss2.php has changed significantly and the default wordpress feed is derived from <strong>feed-rss2.php<\/strong> in the wp-includes folder of WordPress. So if you need to tweak your wordpress 2.2 feed, now you need to edit Feed-rss2.php instead of wp-rss2.php.
