Does my smartphone have the SAR tick? \u00a0<\/strong>The SAR value is an important indicator of the amount of radiation your mobile device is emitting and your body is absorbing! It is very important that you check SAR\u00a0values of your mobile phone.<\/p>\n

What is SAR tick?<\/h2>\n

\"sarSAR Tick<\/a> is an effort by the mobile manufacturers forum (MMF) to convey information to mobile phone users about compliance with radiation standards in their mobile device. As we are all aware that mobile phones emit radiation when they connect to the mobile tower nearest to them.<\/p>\n

How safe are these mobile radiation to humans? What is the SAR value of your cell phone? Does your phone have a SAR tick?<\/p>\n

What is SAR?<\/h2>\n

SAR stands for specific absorption rate<\/strong> and is a measure of the radio frequency power which is absorbed by the human body or head of the person using the wireless mobile device as it transmits the signal. Though the SAR values are tested at maximum power, in routine use the phone will be having much less SAR values. More technical information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When I read the small information booklet which came with the Nokia cell phone, it was good to know my Lumia was compliant with international SAR safety standards.<\/p>\n

Governments worldwide have international guidelines on how much SAR values they allow. These guidelines vary from country to country. In the \u00a0United States, \u00a0the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopts<\/a> an exposure limit of 1.6 W\/kg<\/strong> (over 1g), while the \u00a0International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection\u00a0(ICNIRP) uses a limit of 2.0 W\/kg<\/strong> averaged over 10g of tissue and is used across the world.<\/p>\n

ALL cell phones must meet the FCC\u2019s RF exposure standard, which is set at a level well below that at which laboratory testing indicates, and medical and biological experts generally agree, adverse health effects could occur.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Its is important to know if your mobile phone emits radio waves compliant with international guidelines. Reduce Phone Radiation Exposure<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There might be health risks involved as suggested by WHO earlier, and worldwide health researchers are looking for links with brain cancers, though nothing is proved as yet.<\/p>\n

While an increased risk of brain tumors is not established, the increasing use of mobile phones and the lack of data for mobile phone use over time periods longer than 15 years warrant further research of mobile phone use…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A recent Netherlands Health Council report states<\/p>\n

Currently data is available for up to 13 year mobile phone usage. It shows no clear evidence that using a phone for such a time period results in an increased risk for brain tumours or other tumours in the head.
