Applications for the the Best Job in the World<\/strong>, an Island Caretaker<\/a> on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef have opened and people are lining up for a six month paid travel vacation on this blogging job.<\/p>\n

What is the job profile? <\/strong>Write a weekly blog and capture some entertaining moments for your video diary and photo gallerysharing experiences on the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Tourism Queensland will organise a schedule of travel and events on the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef, including a new luxury spa treatment at qualia on Hamilton Island, trying out new snorkelling gear on Heron Island, or bushwalking on Hinchinbrook Island.<\/p>\n

Where do you stay? <\/strong>The Island Caretaker will live at Blue Pearl, a beautiful three-bedroom home on Hamilton Island featuring stunning views of the Whitsunday Islands, modern facilities, exquisite furnishings, state-of-the-art entertainment system. Enjoy the private plunge pool\/spa, sun lounges, large balconies and the traditional Aussie barbeque. A golf buggy is parked to explore the island.<\/p>\n

How to apply?<\/strong> Create a 60 seconds or less video in English, explaining why you are the best person for the job in an entertaining way, then complete a short online application form and upload the video. This will then be reviewed by Tourism Queensland representatives. 50 short-listed applicants will be required to submit additional information. Final 11 applicants (10 selected by Tourism Queensland, 1 Wild Card) will participate in an extensive interview selection process which will be held on a number of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Winner will be announced on 6th May 2009 and the six month employment<\/em> tenure with Tourism Queensland commences 1st July 2009.<\/p>\n
