MyWeb is shutting down on March 18, 2009 and they are moving all users to <a href=\"http:\/\/bookmarks.yahoo.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Yahoo! Bookmarks<\/a>. After Yahoo! acquired Delicious, a very popular <strong>online social bookmarking service<\/strong>, this news was expected as both services were competing and Delicious has a very active user base with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2005\/02\/absolutely-delicious-complete-tools-collection\/\">lots of delicious tools<\/a> built by the community.<\/p>\n<p>The main purpose of<strong> Yahoo! MyWeb <\/strong>was to save your bookmarks in a place where you can always find them, share your bookmarks with family, friends and colleagues and discover new things by browsing what&#8217;s popular or interesting to you.<\/p>\n<p>Now they suggest that Yahoo! MyWeb users have 2 options &#8211; Switch to\t<a href=\"http:\/\/bookmarks.yahoo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yahoo! Bookmarks<\/a> if you need only <strong>private bookmarking<\/strong>. For all users, all your MyWeb bookmarks are already available in Yahoo! Bookmarks.<\/p>\n<p>But if you enjoy <strong>sharing bookmarks<\/strong> and exploring others bookmarks, then switch to Delicious (formerly called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2008\/08\/delicious-2\/\">del.icio.us<\/a>).  However, migrating to delicious is a 3 step process. First, <a href=\"http:\/\/bookmarks.yahoo.com\/tools\/showexport\" rel=\"noopener\">export your bookmarks<\/a> in XML format and save this file to your computer; register for a Delicious account; and then upload this XML file using the Manual Import option.<\/p>\n<p>If you are done with Yahoo! and plan to move all your MyWeb bookmarks to<strong> other bookmarking services<\/strong>, try the export tools, which will create a bookmarks archive easily readable by 3rd party services and browsers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our experience<\/strong> &#8211; QOT has been bookmarked several times on Yahoo! MyWeb as well as Delicious. But though delicious front page can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2007\/11\/hit-by-delicious-front-page-effect\/\">drive huge site traffic<\/a>, MyWeb has not been able to generate those huge traffic spikes. Even <strong>Yahoo Buzz <\/strong>has not been successful in driving the promised <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2008\/03\/yahoo-buzz-publishers-get-highest-site-traffic-ever\/\">highest traffic ever<\/a> after it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickonlinetips.com\/archives\/2008\/08\/yahoo-buzz-public-release\/\">opened up to all bloggers<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yahoo!
