What’s the right Facebook page profile picture size in 2026? Back in 2010 Facebook let pages upload a tall profile image up to 200×600 pixels (later 180×540), and we used it to put a huge vertical banner on the QuickOnlineTips page. Those days are long gone: the profile picture is now a small circle, and the big branding space is the cover photo. Here are the current sizes and tips to make both look sharp.
Quick answer: Upload a square profile picture of at least 320×320 pixels (larger is fine, such as 720×720). Facebook shows it as a circle, roughly 176×176 on desktop and smaller on phones, so keep your logo centred with some padding. For the cover photo, use 851×315 pixels or larger at the same proportions, and keep text in the middle because phones crop the sides.

- Switch into your Page from your profile menu.

- Leave padding around the edges; the corners of a square are cut off.

Use the cover photo for branding
The cover photo is today’s version of our 2010 “huge profile picture” trick. Use it for your tagline, a product shot or a current campaign. Keep important text away from the left, right and bottom edges, where the profile picture and buttons overlap on some screens.

Thanks for the tip. Facebook doesn’t seem to have anything about this in their Help section. I believe they changed the acceptable photo size again recently.
Display profile picture and online videos are only two way promoting brand in Facebook. You should always use picture 200px and 12 widths, by using this you draw visitor attention and another is online social TV in Facebook.

The 200×600 image you use for your facebook page, put all important details of your blog on that too, like your twitter address, email etc.
This helps in increasing the visibilty of you blog, as people generally tend to open up links they find on the internet.
