In case you are wondering why Technorati is not indexing your blog posts and Technorati tags, Maybe the technorati spider is unable to assess your blog as you would want it to.
Easy Technorati Indexing
Here are some simple tips which you can implement in your blog so that Technorati indexes it well and you get all that extra site traffic from Technorati.
1. Valid markup for Web Pages
Display your webpage content as it is meant to be displayed. A vaild markup ensures Technorati spiders pick up your site code efficiently. W3C Markup Validation Service is a free service that checks Web documents in formats like HTML and XHTML for conformance to W3C Recommendations and other standards and will help you identify and correct markup errors on your site. [In fact this is the reason Technorati support told me when I emailed them I was not being indexed well]
2. Validate Your Feed
Technorati indexes your feed to retrieve additional information and discern document structure. Feedvalidator is a validator for syndicated feeds which works with RSS 0.90-2.0 and Atom feeds. It helps your syndication feeds and possible points of improvement. [Well my feedburner feed does not validate. And FeedBurner says the obsolete feed error is OK]
3. Identify a unique posts
By adding a link with a defined relationship of “bookmark” for each post, you can help Technorati’s spiders identify a unique post and its proper link destination . So add this simple tag to your post title links and guide Technorati. For example:
<a href=”http://blog.bloghost.com/postname” rel=”bookmark”>Post title</a>
4. Use Technorati Tags
If your blog software supports categories and RSS/Atom feeds (like Movable Type, WordPress, TypePad, Blogware, Radio), possibly your categories will be read as tags automatically. If your blog software is Blogger (like mine) which doesn’t support categories, you have to tag your post by including a special link in the body of your post.
<a href=”http://technorati.com/tag/[tagname]” rel=”tag”>[tagname]</a>
If you do not wish to link to Technorati, You can link to any web page that ends in a tag
<a href=”http://apple.com/ipod” rel=”tag”>iPod</a>

Blog and Ping! Pinging a blog service lets them know you have created / updated a post and invites them to come visiting to check your post for tags and content. Several blog softwares are configured to ping Technorati automatically, or you can manually ping Technorati, or configure your blog publishing tool to ping Technorati directly and allow for custom pings.
I have read that many bloggers are complaining that Technorati is not indexing their blog well. So try this, have some patience and see if Technorati indexes you well and sends some more site traffic your way!
