Wordpress 2.2.1 Release Candidate Available
June 16th, 2007WordPress 2.2.1 release candidate has been made available for download for testing by the wordpress community before the final version is released in the next few days.
Boren.nu says that Wordpress 2.2.1 fixes bugs in widgets, xmlrpc, atom feeds, and other areas and also addresses security issues found in xmlrpc and phpmailer. All changes made since 2.2 can be viewed here. A list of all bugs fixed in 2.2.1 is here. Download here (.zip)
Some lessons learnt last time – After the mandatory Wordpress 2.2 upgrade, you can get the Post Preview Frame back. Since my feed customizations disappeared, I found that you needed to edit the feed-rss2.php (and not wp-rss2.php) to customize feeds in Wordpress 2.2.
This time when I upgraded to wordpress 2.2, I found some unusual Wordpress Bugs and learnt to check WP Files on my web server (before filing a bug report). And just in case your backup plugins are not working, reduce the database size. Wordpress 2.2.1 will be out soon!

I’m looking forward to it.
