CSS Reboot on 1st May : Rebooters Show Web Standard Redesigns

CSS Reboot is a community event for web professionals to be held on May 1st, 2006. Rebooters from all over the world will launch their web standards-based redesigns simultaneously, bringing traffic, interest and respect to their sites.

CSS Reboot

The first Reboot was held on May 1st, Spring 2005. After the success of the first CSS Reboot, the event went bi-annual. And on July 1st, 2005 was launched the CSS Reboot, Fall 2005 edition.

Each Rebooter can reboot up to 3 sites. The Reboot hopes to be a worldwide event so it uses the Greenwich Mean Time to try and get everyone worldwide to launch their design at roughly the same time.

On May 1st every site that has an “after screenshot” uploaded for it will automatically launch at 6:00 GMT. Any site that doesn’t have an after screenshot will not launch until one has been uploaded for it. All screenshots need to be 200px wide by 140px tall.

To get lots of traffic on that day, try Rebooter Premium for just $25 every first time visitor to the CSS Reboot will see your site by default on the homepage. Only when they choose to sort by name, score or votes will they be taken away from that default. Well it seems all 50 spots for Rebooter Premium filled up in less than 7 hours!

Follow their goal – “Redesign your site with CSS and web standards in mind and show the entire world all at once just how great accessible, standards design can really be.” Become a professional web designer. Become a rebooter!
