You heard about Google street view cars, then Street View Trikes and now there are the Google Street View Snowmobiles which are busy mapping mountain slopes, in time for the Olympic Games.
Check out the Google Street Snowmobile at work
This will make available amazing ski slopes imagery to the world in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics, officially the XXI Olympic Winter Games being held from February 12–28, 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with some events held in Whistler, British Columbia. Google Street View Snowmobiles are mapping quickly to capture slope-level imagery of several runs on Whistler Blackcomb Mountains and promise the same view down the mountain as a world-class skier would get.
