Find Popular Search Terms with Google Hot Trends

Google has recently launched a new tool to help you find the popular buzz, search trends and breaking news around the internet. Google Hot Trends combines the power of Google Search, Google News, Google Blog Search, and presents a new feature of Google Trends for sharing the the hottest current searches with you very close to real time.

Google Zeitgeist has performed a similar task for a long time pulling together interesting search trends and patterns automatically generated based on the millions of searches conducted on Google over a given period of time – weekly, monthly, and annually. They end every year with a Annual Zeitgeist that lists the most popular search terms on Google. Then came Google Trends, that let you compare the world’s interest in your favorite topics.

Announcing the launch, Google says that Hot Trends is updated several times throughout the day, and for each Hot Trend, you can see results from Google News, Google Blog Search and web search, which help explain why the search is hot.

The weekly Zeitgest list is gone now, though the monthly lists for each country, and annual year-end Zeitgest will continue. Check out more at the Big Google Search Tools Collection.
