Facebook Fellowship Program for Ph.D Students

Facebook has launched the Facebook Fellowship Program for Ph.D. students to help solve challenges facing the social web and Internet technology. Here is an opportunity to learn what you love and get a huge award for it too.

Facebook fellowships are available for a wide range of academic topics, like Internet economics, cloud computing, social computing, data mining, machine learning, and systems and information retrieval. Full-time Ph.D. students in U.S. universities and working on these topical areas can apply for one of five fellowships

The Facebook fellowship will cover Tuition and fees for the academic year, $30,000 stipend (paid over 9 months of the academic year), $5000 per year toward conference attendance and travel and  $5000 for a personal computer and opportunity to apply for a paid summer internship.

Your application must include 1-2 page research summary (with focus and applicability to Facebook), Students CV, 2 letters of recommendation (one from faculty sponsor) and name and CV of the faculty sponsor. Last date for applications is February 15, 2010 and Award recipients will be notified by March 29, 2010.
