Google Instant Search: Fastest Search Ever

Google has previewed Google Instant Search, which is the Fastest Search Ever, as it can find search results faster that you can type. People were observing Google instant in the test phase over the last few weeks, and now it is officially rolling over.

I see it live on Google.com right now – as I type search terms, the search results display instantly with Google suggest search terms also.

If you don’t see it live on your site, watch videos below to know more.

So why can Google search faster that you type?

Google says – Our key technical insight was that people type slowly, but read quickly, typically taking 300 milliseconds between keystrokes, but only 30 milliseconds (a tenth of the time!) to glance at another part of the page. This means that you can scan a results page while you type.

Google now dynamically displays relevant search results as you type so you can quickly interact and click through to the web content you need. Google also predicts the rest of your query (in light gray text) before you finish typing.
