WordPress 2.5 Release Delayed
March 12th, 2008The eagerly awaited latest version of WordPress 2.5 was expected any time now; but the 2.5 milestone has been delayed by a week as per the WordPress Trac which is now displaying 17 March as the expected date of WordPress release.
While Lorelle repeatedly asks if you are ready for WordPress 2.5; with still over 400 tickets open, Mark points out that there is a lot of work being done on styling, bug fixes and open tickets and even though the milestone is delayed, a well polished release will be more appreciated and will be better for the community than a rush to release.
…the delaying of the release date and the tweaking and fixing till a comfort level is reached, is not a bad thing at all. On the contrary, if followed with due diligence and with care, this development model can help put together some really good code and it works well in the Open Source (or any shared development) environment.
I believe it always worth the wait for a stable bug-free release, rather than upgrade to a buggy version and keep waiting for WordPress 2.5.1.

I agree to wait to have a stable version rather than an error one, thanks for sharing, i have tested WP 2.5 and love it very much
Just wonder why need a schedule anyway? If there is some critical update then update, if not then wait for next version.
Cool…thanks for nice info :)
Hmm, Thanks for this information…
I heard 2.5 will include a completely different admin panel is that true ?
