I loved AVG up to V7.5, but the new one is crap. Agiant ressource hog, that will bring slow computers to a halt. Best to be avoided!

AVG version 8 has my cpu running at 100% most of the time and I’m not the only one. It’s good but a real resource hog that slows me down big time. Only upgraded because the nag screen said there would be no more updates available for 7.5 after May. Lots of people are saying the same and AVG needs to look into this problem. Upgrade with caution if you have an older pc…

I have been using Free AVG and I have downloaded
8.0 at least 3 times, but I still get notices
that I must update 7.5 to 8.0 by July 25.

However, after daily auto-updates, TODAY, there was a statement saying .bin file is missing.

AVG 8 is a very good anti virus package, however there is a few little problems with the default setup.
When you install the Link Scanner it adds a little plugin into your web browser, when you visit search engines such as google it scans through each and every result which can cause your browsing experience to be painfully slow!
